Gendo vs mnml.ai

mnml.ai and Gendo both turn sketches, massing models and screenshots into photoreal architectural images. They differ in three ways:

    • how you pay: credits or unlimited
    • how a team works together: in-app plugins or a shared canvas
    • how project data is governed

    Pricing: credits or unlimited

mnml.ai's individual plans run from Lite ($29 a month, 1,000 credits) to Studio ($119 a month, 10,000 credits). Every render spends credits, and a busy deadline week can mean a top-up. Gendo Studio has no credit balance for images. Five editors share unlimited generations for £79 a month, or £66 billed annually. That is about £15.80 or £13.20 per editor.

    Workflow: plugins or a canvas

This is mnml.ai's strongest point. Rendering from inside SketchUp, Revit, Rhino or Grasshopper, or from an AI assistant through its connector, keeps a solo designer in one window.

Gendo works from any image of the model in the browser, so a mixed-CAD team works in one place and nobody installs or updates a plugin. Gendo is not a CAD or BIM replacement. It sits alongside those tools as the place where visual options are explored, compared and agreed.

    Security, IP and data

Both companies say they do not train on customer work. On Gendo this is written into the terms for Studio and Enterprise. Prompts and outputs are also excluded from marketing and treated as confidential, and data is hosted in GDPR-compliant EU data centres. Enterprise adds SAML SSO, audit logs and custom DPAs (Data and control).

To be clear about the free plan: Gendo Free outputs are owned by Gendo, may be used for training and are for non-commercial use. Under clause 9.5 of the Terms of Service, where outputs are created on a Free Plan, "Gendo and/or its licensors shall own all Intellectual Property Rights in the Outputs", and you may use them "for your own non-commercial, internal or educational purposes only". The Plan Catalogue lists Free-plan prompts and outputs as used for model training. Client work belongs on Studio.
