# Holding the Original Render While Cutting Time in the 3D Scene

Wow Textura is a three-person visualisation studio based near Venice, working for estate agencies, architects and interior designers. The work covers exterior and interior architecture alongside product imagery, with a specialism in lighting products including Murano glass.

The studio models and renders in 3ds Max with Corona, often starting from a basic model supplied by the architect, then finishing in Photoshop. Its images are used on site in place of, or alongside, technical drawings.

> "We create images for exterior and interior architecture and also product imagery. Often we have a basic 3D model from the architect, but modelling is not a problem for us."

The challenge

## AI tools that changed the client's project

The studio had tried several AI platforms before Gendo. The recurring problem was precision: each one altered the render the studio had produced in 3ds Max, which meant the architect's design no longer matched what the client had approved.

Clients do not accept small differences to their project. Correcting them meant going back into the 3D scene or working hard in post-production, which removed any time the tool had saved.

The solution

## A final image that matches the original

Mauro first saw Gendo on Instagram, and the thing that stood out was fidelity to the source render rather than novelty. The studio now works less in the 3D scene and saves the render farm passes it used to need for each variation.

"I remember I said, it's amazing, the final image is perfectly matched to the original."

Wow Textura found Gendo through work shared on Instagram.

Workflow

## Less time in the scene, less time on the farm

Gendo changed the balance of the studio's process. Rather than building every atmospheric decision into the 3D scene and sending it to a render farm, the studio resolves geometry in Corona and takes the image the rest of the way in Gendo.

Day and night versions, added or removed objects, and populated scenes are handled at the image stage. Being able to test directions before committing credits removed a level of pressure from the work.

> "Gendo changed our workflow completely. We work less in the 3D scene and we save the time we spent rendering the image on the render farm."

Design

## A second opinion when the direction is unresolved

The value is not only speed. Mauro uses Gendo where an idea is difficult to build in a 3D scene, or where the right direction is not yet settled and options need to be seen rather than described.

Adding people to a scene, switching a setting from day to night, and testing an effect are all decisions the studio can now take visually, on the image itself, before any of them are committed to the model.

> "Gendo helps me when I am not sure or I have design doubts."

Transformation

## Before & After

Drag to compare the transformation

Before Gendo

The base render leaves the studio's 3D scene with the geometry and layout resolved.

With Gendo

Gendo carries the same scene through to atmosphere, materials and light without moving the design.

## The Impact: Faster turnaround, without a loss of accuracy

The studio delivers more quickly while keeping the image faithful to the architect's model, which is the part earlier AI tools could not do.

Impact

## Key Outcomes

Original design preserved

The final image matches the render supplied to the client

Less 3D scene work

Atmosphere and variation handled at the image stage

Fewer render farm passes

Time and cost removed from every alternative version

Free exploration

Directions tested before credits are committed

Feedback

## Clients respond to the mood, and to the speed

Clients have responded to both the realism of the images and the feeling they carry, which is the part that is hardest to argue for in a technical drawing.

For the studio's own team, the shift took a few weeks to settle into, but the direction is set: fewer hours spent chasing a look in the scene, more spent on the image the client actually sees.

"They are in love with the new results, in terms of the feeling the image transmits to them but also the hyper realism."

> "We save a lot of time finding the right effect, but especially in keeping the final image the same as the original."
