# GENDO 48: Soldagen — Winner’s Breakdown with Afterform

Luke Parkhurst and Michaella Tafalla of Afterform reveal how they developed In the Interval, their winning GENDO 48: Soldagen project, in four days — from early concepts to the final submission.

## About This Video

How do you design a competition-winning project in just four days? Go behind the scenes with Luke Parkhurst and Michaella Tafalla of Afterform, winners of GENDO 48: Soldagen, as they break down their winning project, In the Interval. Set against the dramatic landscape of Kjerkfjorden, their bathhouse explores the relationship between light, temperature, mountain and sea. In this session, Afterform open up their Gendo canvas to reveal their creative process, from early concepts and rapid AI-powered experimentation to the final competition submission. Joined by Gendo's Ismail and George, we explore: • What made In the Interval stand out to the jury • How Afterform used Gendo throughout the design process, not just for final renders • How AI helped test ideas, explore alternatives and refine their design • How they developed a compelling architectural narrative in just four days • Key lessons for architects entering the next GENDO 48 competition Whether you're exploring AI in architecture, looking to improve your design workflow or preparing for the next GENDO 48, this session offers practical insights into what's possible.
