A walkthrough of the GENDO 48: Soldagen brief — the site at Vindstad, the spa commission, the key spaces, and what the judges are looking for across the four days.

## About This Video

The Gendo team break down the brief for GENDO 48: Soldagen, the second Gendo Design Competition — a bathhouse for a near-empty village at the head of a Lofoten fjord. What's covered: • The premise — Soldagen, the returning sun, and why height buys you daylight at Vindstad • The commission — a spa for the village first and visitors second, in the civic spirit of Therme Vals • Key spaces — arrival and shelter, the warm bath, the sea bath, sauna and steam, the high place, and the shared room • The site — no road, everything arriving by boat, a narrow shelf of grass between rock and water, and the national park boundary over the pass • The three themes — light, weather and seasonality — and how they should be argued on the boards • Judging — the idea, the site, the temporal narrative and the process, scored out of forty • How to organise a canvas entry using frames, text and arrows so a stranger can follow the reasoning
